Are Wedding Planners worth the money? It’s a safe bet to say that every wedding vendor out there would agree that hiring a wedding planner is essential to the success of your wedding. Actually, it can’t be stressed enough how instrumental having a planner can be – and trust us, we will stress it as much as possible! But…we get it! Good planners come with a price tag and when you are working within a budget, it may seem like hiring a Planner is frivolous. Still, we are here to tell you to find room in your budget. Even if you choose “month-of” services, it will be worth it. Still on the fence? We’re sharing how hiring a Wedding Planner can save you money, so that the cost of hiring one is worth it!
Vendor Contacts/Relationships. The wedding industry is a tight-knit group. Where you typically work with us only once, we work with each other all of the time! We are here to tell you that there are times that the relationship a Planner has with vendors can pull some weight for your wedding day. You never know what perks lie in those vendor relationships.
Contract Reviews. Vendor contracts are complex enough. Having a professional set of eyes on them can save you some serious last-minute panicking. Having a Planner review your contracts could potentially save you some extra fees that your current timeline and budget may not have accounted for. Remember, we do weddings every weekend and we have a large base of experience to know what to look for and what really makes a difference for your event.
Avoiding the OOPS. Inevitably, without a Planner, you will have “oops” on your wedding day. Almost all wedding vendors have a damage deposit or damage policy. A Planner will help avoid any of those potential overages. She will know everything that you need for a successful, beautiful day, so there will be no last minute runs to Target or last-minute delivery charges.
Budget Tracking. It is easy to get distracted by the amazing wedding “squirrels” out there that couples just can’t help but chase. “Ooh! Look! Fireworks for the send off! Let’s do that.” Or “Let’s put a chocolate fountain at every table!” Great ideas? Oh hell yes! But within your budget? Maybe not. A Planner will let you know exactly what those awesome items will do to your budget. And, they will tell you other areas within your budget where you might make a cut so that you can fit in fireworks! If your plan is to stay on (or below) budget, hiring a Planner is a fail-safe way to make that happen.
DIY. Now, this is not true of all Planners. However, there are some out there that are willing to go the extra mile to make your day fabulous (because they want Instagram likes/follows, too). We have seen Planners provide calligraphy signs, minimal floral design, votive candles, and other small DIY projects. Wedding Planners essentially need to be a jack-of-all-trades and they will put those skills to work to ensure perfection.
You simply can’t afford to not hire Planner. With so many wonderful options and different offerings, you can find one that fits your budget and style. Have faith, because the hardest part is that you may not see the full benefit of a Wedding Planner until after the wedding. You’re going to have to trust us…hire a planner!
